Caracas Mayor's Office brigades continue rescue efforts in San Bernardino

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, reported that brigades from the Liberator Municipal Services Corporation and Popular Power Solutions Brigades ( BRISOPP) have been deployed together with Civil Protection officers , firefighters and the Armed Forces to carry out rescue work in the Rita building in San Bernardino in the capital city.

“In the spaces of the Rita building, which also collapsed in San Bernardino, we have arranged five " role="link">@corpo_libertador brigades, more than 100 " role="link">@brisopp men, together with civil protection officials, firefighters, Bolivarian National Armed Forces, " role="link">@ciacacaracas and volunteers,” he said through his Instagram account.

He also reported that so far they have managed to rescue 12 people and four pets. In addition, he indicated that the work team has been joined by a “total of 7 doctors, 58 military officials, 10 police officers from Caracas, 50 brigade members from the state of Lara, among other professionals.”

In addition, he indicated that the work of the human team in this place is added to the work carried out with heavy machinery, such as: excavators, backhoes, trucks, telescopic cranes and dump trucks.

He pointed out that they also have a citizen service center in the area, with the objective of providing information to people who require it or who are at risk, as a result of recent seismic activity in the capital city.
