On Monday, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, urged the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cámeron, to honor the commitments made in the Geneva Agreement in 1966, instead of generating messages of intrigue, between Venezuela and Guyana, in a conflict generated by England's plundering attitude throughout history.
“Mr. @David_Cameron: the plundering attitude of the former empire of the United Kingdom has been the biggest cause of territorial conflicts on the planet, including that of Guiana Essequiba, recognized by its government through the Geneva Agreement,” Gil reiterated on the social network X.
The Venezuelan foreign minister referred to a publication through which David Cameron confirms the United Kingdom's support for the Guyanese in their territorial dispute with Venezuela.
“Instead of sending ridiculous messages of intrigue, take charge, with true honor, of the commitments made in 1966. Guyana and Venezuela have committed ourselves to this task, in order to reverse one of the effects of colonialism and imperial arrogance in our region,” added the Venezuelan diplomat.
