The crime rate in the state of Guárico decreased by 50% compared to 2022 and by more than 100% compared to 2017, the governor of that entity, José Vásquez, reported.
During a press conference held at the facilities of the Los Llanos Strategic Integral Defense Region (REDI) and replicated by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he noted that by 2017 there were more than four thousand criminal acts in the entity, but at the close of 2023, fewer than 700 criminal acts were registered.
“This is due to the cohesion, action and articulation of the civic-military-police union,” he emphasized.
“Guárico went from being among the six most insecure states, to being among the first six most secure, according to the National Security Observatory, it's something that few recognize, but it's a titanic effort and work,” said the governor.
