Since 2017 and to date, Guárico state has achieved an 88% decrease in crime rates, the governor of the entity, José Vásquez, reported.

In statements collected by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), Vásquez said that Guarico went from 4,416 crimes to only 47 in the year 2025. “Thanks to this, Guárico has gone from being one of the most insecure states to being among the five safest in the country,” he added.

The regional president specified that to achieve all this work, progress has been made in providing radio patrol units and motorcycles in the 15 municipalities of the state.

Added to this is the optimization of the vehicle fleet, the adaptation of security infrastructures, in addition to the promotion and expansion of the 112 peace quadrants.

Vásquez also referred to Guárico's position as the first national producer of rice, corn, onions, tomatoes, cotton, fishing and pig breeding. “We also rank second in poultry production, third in llanero cheese, fourth in livestock and fifth in eggs,” he added.

He also highlighted the historic record for rice planting with more than 46,000 hectares planted in the North-Summer cycles 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.

The governor said that this has allowed Guárico to be consolidated with its productive leadership as an agricultural and livestock power that promotes the economic and social development of the country.

“These results are the result of joint efforts between producers, farmers, agro-industrialists and the support of the National Government. We continue working to guarantee the supply of the Venezuelan plain and to build a prosperous future for all Guariquan and Venezuelan families,” he concluded.
