In a spirit of combat, under the banner of the national tricolor and in the unwavering defense of sovereignty, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) ratified its historic commitment to the Homeland; this was stated by the Sectorial Vice President for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, General in Chief, Vladimir Padrino López, during his visit to the Special Security Unit of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) Cotiza, where he shared Christmas moments with soldiers in national service.
In his speech, the top military official recalled that Venezuela's independence was conquered with blood, sweat and tears by the Venezuelan people.
“When the president of the United States says that these lands belong to them and that everything that lies here underground, natural wealth, water, biodiversity, oil and gas belongs to them, that caused great indignation among the people of Venezuela,” he said.
The Minister for Defense also urged the FANB to remain firm, without giving up or allowing itself to be manipulated by pretensions of foreign domination, and called for continuing the united struggle together with the Venezuelan people.
In recognition of the institution's work, Padrino López congratulated the FANB for its forceful actions against drug trafficking: “The performance of our Bolivarian Military Aviation and the Integral Aerospace Defense Command, in neutralizing 8 aircraft associated with drug trafficking in the state of Amazonas, was impressive. Every aircraft serving drug trafficking will receive a response from the FANB,” he said.
He also highlighted: “We have had a great participation in stability and peace-keeping, especially the Bolivarian National Guard in the fight against drug trafficking. More than 65 tons of drugs have been seized in different procedures, showing that Venezuela plays a decisive role in drug trafficking.”
The meeting culminated with an emotional Christmas celebration at the GNB Cotiza Special Security Unit, where Chief General Vladimir Padrino López, together with the Great Military Family of the FANB, celebrated a fraternal lunch that strengthened the bonds of unity, peace, equality and love in the family.
Finally, the senior military official recalled the message of humility and fraternity that should guide the institution and the people: “Jesus left us a great message of love, union and humility, we cannot let ourselves be overcome by greed, avarice and ego that only create disunity, we must love each other, for our families and our country”.
