In the next 45 days, the heat and drought in the country will intensify as a result of a natural phenomenon that causes the sun's rays to hit Venezuela perpendicularly, said the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
During a meeting with representatives of the Executive, Rodríguez instructed to advance a national energy savings plan that guarantees the continuity of electricity supply in the country.
“Today, the perpendicular passage of the sun's rays from south to north began, which specifically means that for 45 days from today the sun's rays will fall directly on Venezuela. This is why we appeal to public conscience to advance a plan to save electricity,” he said, while recalling the importance of keeping air conditioners at 21 degrees Celsius and avoiding leaving electronic equipment charging more than necessary.
In the same way, he pointed out that due to this phenomenon, an increase in forest fires is expected, which have an impact on the electricity supply. “I appeal to the national conscience of citizens, of public institutions so that we can move forward with this energy savings plan,” he reiterated.
In this regard, he said that he asked the ministers of communication and electricity to advance a communication plan to keep the population informed.
