From the National Pantheon, in Caracas, where the remains of General Domingo Antonio Sifontes arrive this Tuesday, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted the importance of this historic event to enhance the defense of the territorial integrity of the Homeland.

Through his account on the social network X, Rodríguez highlighted that, in the commemoration of 126 years of his planting, General Sifontes arrives at the Mausoleum “to accompany our Liberator to continue protecting Venezuela.”

In this regard, he pointed out that “with patriotic commitment, let us face together the imperialism that exploits the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to strip us of our Guiana Essequiba. We will win!”.

January 2, 2024, marked 129 years since the expulsion of the English from the Cuyuní River, when they tried to take over the towns of El Callao, Tumremo and El Dorado, in order to steal wealth and provisions.

The English squad intended to control the Cuyuní River and its coastal towns, where the United Kingdom marked Robert Shomburgk's illegal border line.

The British planned to strip Venezuela of Guiana Essequiba, but Sifontes forcefully pushed the troops to the ground and prevented them from reaching the Orinoco Delta.
