The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, offered a balance sheet this Friday through a telephone contact to report on contingency actions after the double earthquake. She recognized the strong will to support the citizens, but urged that aid be channeled in an organized manner to safeguard the effectiveness of operations in the most critical areas.
In this regard, the head of state in charge emphasized the need to maintain order and calm in the affected sectors, with special emphasis on the state of La Guaira. “Everyone wants to do it out of solidarity, but we must do it in a way that does not hinder this rescue work, security work, peace of mind in that state, which, as I said, requires our support,” he said.
As a cross-cutting action that the entire population can carry out from their homes without interfering with technical deployments, Rodríguez called for a day of spiritual union. “That something that all together we can do every day is to pray, to pray from our deep faith for our loved ones; to pray that they are alive and that they can be rescued and saved in a timely manner,” he said.
In the operational area, he explained that the General Staff and the Council of Vice-Presidents are permanently deployed in all affected federal entities. He also announced the activation of a mental approach plan through the Coexistence, Democratic and Peace program, which will deploy a contingent of psychologists and university experts to care for children who are heavily affected by the emergency.
The president in charge reiterated her call for civic discipline and expressed her perennial gratitude to the nations that have sent rescue missions to the national territory. “I call for solidarity and call for permanent prayer for the lives of our Venezuelan brothers and Venezuelan sisters and to thank, I never tire of doing so, all the international support, all the governments that have communicated,” he concluded.
