The general secretary of the United
Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, recalled the events of April
11, 12 and 13 when the coup d'etat that opposing sectors gave to Commander Hugo Chávez was defeated in a civic-military union.
“It's 24 years since the Day of Bolivarian
National Dignity (...) commemorating April 13, 2002, an event that
undoubtedly marked the history of the Bolivarian Revolution.
On April 11, 12 and 13, those days generated a great general shock, but also a great
reaction from the Armed Forces, the People and all together we went out to demand the return
of our dear Commander Hugo Chávez,” he recalled during the PSUV press conference.
He also stressed that the People, in
perfect civic-military union, returned to Commander Chávez to the presidency of
the Republic in less than 48 hours. “The Bolivarian Revolution remembers all
these events that have marked part of our history,” he said, highlighting the
great mobilization that will take place to commemorate these dates.
In addition, he took the opportunity to question
the fragility of the memory of the opposition sectors that do not like to remember these dates.
“They have very fragile selective memory,” he said.
