Eastern states send more than 450 tons of humanitarian aid to La Guaira

A shipment of more than 450 tons of supplies and donations sailed from the Eulalia Buroz Commercial Port of Puerto La Cruz, in Anzoátegui, bound for La Guaira, an initiative that consolidates the joint effort between the country's eastern states in the face of recent earthquakes in the country.

The shipment is the result of joint work in the states of Anzoátegui, Monagas, Sucre and Bolívar to contribute to the comprehensive aid offered to those affected by the earthquake emergency.

The shipment includes medical supplies, personal hygiene products, non-perishable foods, mattresses, mats, hydration, construction materials and shelter.

The governors Luis Marcano for Anzoátegui and Yuslibeth García for Bolívar, together with the executive and political state train, accompanied the departure of the boat “Melina”, which carries 13 vehicles, including trucks and gangolas.

“Today, we have articulated this shipment of humanitarian aid from here, to the state of La Guaira, necessary supplies to continue supporting our sisters and brothers in this tragedy that has grieved the country,” said Governor Marcano, while assuring that every Tuesday there will be land shipments from Anzoátegui to the central region of the country.

In addition, the governor of Bolívar thanked the invitation to join forces to guarantee the care needed by the victims and urged those who have not yet joined the cause to participate in consideration of a people that today needs refuge.
