The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) immobilized and disabled an aircraft, allegedly used by drug trafficking, that illegally entered our airspace, said the strategic operational commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.

Through a message published in his X account, the senior military officer explained that the intruder plane came from Cozumel - Mexico and was neutralized by our aerospace defense system in the Catatumbo municipality of the state of Zulia.

“This is a twin-engine Gulfstream aircraft, white, with license plates V3-GRS, which was detected by Venezuelan radars entering national airspace with the transponder turned off and without permission from the Maiquetía FIR, so the Western Bolivarian Shield defense plan was activated to destroy the hostile aircraft,” Hernández Lárez reported.

In addition, the senior military official stressed that Venezuela has the necessary technology to react immediately to any unauthorized entry and make our territory impregnable.
