The far-right government of Javier Milei suspended access to loans for pensioners and retirees in Argentina that were granted through the funding program of the National Social Security Administration (ANSES).

This Tuesday, it was published in the Official Gazette and this measure immediately took effect on the pretext that it “becomes difficult to weigh the inflation index for the coming months, as well as the interest rate to be applied in the personal loan market”.

For her part, the national deputy for Córdoba, Gabriela Estévez, rejected the measure because it directly affects the people of Argentina.

*They follow measures that don't improve anyone's life. ANSES credits are suspended for retirees and workers in the midst of inflation. What a strategy! Sacrificing those who most need support while privileges are shielded for a few. Clear priorities, aren't they?” , expressed through the social network X.

According to what was published on the TELESUR web portal, this social program was implemented last November when the Ministry of Economy was headed by Sergio Massa and allowed retirees from the Argentine Integrated and Social Security System (SIPA) to access about 250,000 and 600,000 pesos (312 to 750 dollars).
