• Genesis Cristina Carmona Tovar was the fifth victim in the first week of the opposition guarimbas known as “La Salida”. Bloody events that stained Venezuela with blood, which were promoted by Leopoldo López, María C. Machado and Antonio Ledezma.
• Carmona Tovar was shot in the back on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, when she was at the barricade of Av. Cedeño de Valencia, edo. Carabobo.
• In the afternoon, the 22-year-old model and marketing student, accompanied by a group of people, decided to move from the barricade to the Plaza de Toros Monumental.
• Genesis was attacked in the back and hit by a bullet that lodged in the skull, at the occipital level, with an entrance hole, no way out. She was transferred to the Guerra Méndez Clinical Center, where she died in the intensive care unit at 12:14pm the next day, February 19.
• Ballistic tests indicated that his death was caused by a gunshot coming from the same place where the opposition guarimba demonstrated.
• On August 21, 2014, after an investigation carried out by the Public Ministry (MP), Juan José Masa Seijas (24), who was accused of being the material author of the model's death, was ordered to be brought to trial.
• The preliminary hearing was held in the 36th Control Court, which admitted the accusation of the prosecutors and ordered the trial of Masa Seijas, granting a precautionary measure to be brought before that judicial instance every 15 days.
• Finally, after coordinated efforts and expertise between the MP and the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), Masa Seijas was arrested on April 1 in front of his place of residence in Valencia, pursuant to a detention order granted by the court in the case.
