The delegations of the Government of Colombia and the dissidents identified as the Central General Staff (EMC) of the extinct Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP), began this Thursday, January 11, the third cycle of the peace dialogue table being held by both parties.
The government office of the High Commissioner for Peace, reported through the social network X, that the plenary session that begins this new round of work is taking place in Bogotá, the Colombian capital.
At this stage of the talks, he explained that “delegations are evaluating the ceasefire and the agreement to protect the civilian population.”
“Tomorrow they will sit down again to advance the talks,” he added.
For its part, the FARC dissident delegation confirmed that among the important issues to be discussed is the extension of the bilateral ceasefire. “Our will for peace remains standing,” the guerrilla organization said in its account on the social network X.
The Government confirmed that the talks will continue this Friday with the purpose of advancing the key issues for the so-called total peace, promoted by the administration of Gustavo Petro.
