Governor of Aragua highlighted “unwavering will” of the People after earthquakes (+Venezuela Renace)

The governor of the state of Aragua, Joana Sánchez, expressed her optimism on Tuesday for the launch of the Venezuela Renace Plan for the reconstruction and recovery of areas affected by the devastating earthquakes recorded in the country.

In a meeting with the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, from Maracay, the regional president praised the “unwavering will” of the people to face the emergency.

“The big capital suffered the greatest impact in terms of buildings and structures (...) we are in the second phase, in the municipality of Santiago Mariño, a collapsed building and today we are making progress here,” he said of the repairs to the infrastructure, which is in yellow color.

He indicated that the Presidential Commission, commissioned by engineer Francisco Garcés, was in the state of Aragua, “where we have received a large number of notifications through different organizations and through the certified commission we have been evaluating in the traffic light category.”

He explained that at this time they are making progress in structurally reinforcing for leveling, “we are going to move forward with masonry, cladding and everything that also includes mental health care” for those affected.

Finally, he reported that the state of Aragua has a volunteer workforce of more than 5 thousand men and women, “regardless of the political colors that have joined this great task and that are deployed throughout the territory.”
