Head of State: Alex Saab managed to overcome US criminal sanctions in times of pandemic

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the reception of the diplomat Alex Saab at the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, asserted that the only crime of this national government official was to overcome U.S. sanctions by seeking medicines and food in times of pandemic for the Venezuelan people.
“Alex Saab, a diplomat born in Colombia and nationalized Venezuelan, his only crime was to overcome criminal sanctions and blockade when looking for medicine and food for Venezuela, a task in which he was captured and kidnapped, but it goes without saying that all the vaccines and medicines you were looking for reached the people,” said Maduro.
This Wednesday, the plane that took Saab to our country, landed at Simon Bolivar International Airport, in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, and had been kidnapped for more than three years and illegally detained in the United States.
Saab was welcomed by the first fighter Cilia Flore's; the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez; his wife Camilla Fabri and family members.
