The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the example of Domingo Antonio Sifontes must become a cross line in the daily exercise of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), claiming constitutional values in defense of sovereignty.
“Soldiers, soldiers, militiamen, militiamen, always, always have to be ready to follow the example of General Sifontes and defend Venezuelan land, the sovereignty of any empire or any traitor oligarchy,” the President urged during the arrival of the remains of this soldier of the Fatherland who commanded the battle of Cuyuní in 1895.
He asserted that “the dream of the U.S. empire is to someday be able to return, license and destroy the liberation army that we have today, which is called the Bolivarian National Armed Force.”
The head of state asserted that the country's schools, as well as organizations of popular power, must “vindicate collective memory” in the territory.
