Head of State hands over to AN evidence of four coup conspiracies and assassination attempts in 2023

This Monday, January 15, the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, assured that “in Venezuela the U.S. military presence is over forever and they will never, ever return (...), I guarantee them.” At the presentation of his Annual Message to the Nation, President Nicolás Maduro handed over to the president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, the complete file and materials on the dismantling of four coup conspiracies during the year 2023.

“These conspiracies have been kept silent. All relevant intelligence and investigative as well as judicial steps were carried out and, in the month of May, August, November and December, respectively, each of them, with foreign components planned from Miami and Colombia, were dismantled. I had already advanced and I notified the Government of Colombia that the CIA base in that country, which was established during the governments of Uribe, Santos and Duque, continues to act secretly and with impunity against Venezuela,” he said.

The Head of State emphasized that “these conspiracies have the Miami-Colombia axis and their epicenter on the border. Everyone involved is convicted and confessed and all the conspiracies were aimed at assassinating me, assassinating Minister Padrino López and important political leaders of Venezuela to create chaos and shock, to shorten the process of peace, stability and recovery in Venezuela.” He added that the last attempt was scheduled to take place on January 1 in the state of Táchira.
