Head of State revealed that the exchange for Alex Saab's release had been ready since November

Nicolás Maduro, president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, explained that the exchange for the release of diplomat Alex Saab had been ready since November 2023.

“It was ready, date, mechanism and everything (...), the exchange of the convicted and confessed terrorists who were imprisoned in Venezuela for an innocent man kidnapped for bringing medicine, gasoline, food to Venezuela was ready: Alex Saab Morán (...) and suddenly a third conspiracy was detected in the country by the Miami-Colombia axis together with the extreme right; when it was unveiled, they became angry in the United States. We continued until the agreement was reached and the exchange (...) was a balanced and fair exchange, where we handed over a group of terrorists for a man who was worth much more than all of them combined, an innocent, honest and patriotic man,” said the Head of State.
