President Nicolás Maduro,
during the presentation of his Annual Message to the National Assembly, assured
that the Bolivarian Government has made progress in the nutritional satisfaction of
our people with national production.
“To guarantee the
nutritional and food satisfaction of our people with national production, during
2023, through the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP), we distributed
2,213 tons of food, equivalent to 130 million food packages,” he explained.
Maduro highlighted that 7,600,000 families were
served monthly, “being the highest number of
care provided by CLAP”. He also indicated that 97% of CLAP products
were produced in Venezuela.
The Head of State called for quantitative progress, “we have to set new goals to improve (...). This is the only country in the world where they bring you a market to your house, we must value it, it costs money and it comes out of the public budget.”
