The National Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents Autonomous Institute (IDENNA) issued a statement, through which it denied the false information published on social networks regarding the destinies of children victims of strong earthquakes and clarified that under no circumstances are they handed over to strangers.

The governing system for the protection of infants indicated that they work in coordination with other related institutions in the country to guarantee the physical and mental well-being of child victims of seismic events, who have taken special care at this time.

The IDENNA emphasized that no girl, boy or adolescent is left unattended in health centers or shelters arranged for the care of individuals, in addition to indicating that they are working to achieve family reunification, which is carried out compulsorily and exclusively with parents or legal representatives, once identity verification has been carried out.

The institution reaffirms their unconditional commitment to the care of children, which is why they work tirelessly for their dignified return to their homes, for this reason they call on the Venezuelan people to calm down and not to allow themselves to be violated by fear or disinformation in the current contingency.
