As part of Operation Fog 2024 carried out by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in the state of Amazonas, an illegal mining camp was dismantled in an important natural reserve area.
This was reported by the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, through his X account, where he explained that 1,800 liters of diesel and 2,300 liters of gasoline were found and destroyed in that camp.
In addition, the uniformed personnel also disabled two motor pumps used for illegal mining; an air compressor; two outboard motors; scuba equipment with a diving hose; six wetsuits; a gas cylinder; a power plant; kitchen; food; perco, as well as other logistical materials, used for environmental depredation and illegal mining.
“The territorial legal system prohibits any type of open-pit and hydrocarbon mining in the state of Amazonas,” emphasized the senior military official.
