On December 25, Razi Mousavi, a veteran member of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), who was serving as a military advisor in Syria, was assassinated by the Zionist regime in Israel.
In this regard, the Iranian ambassador to Syria, Hosein Akbari, indicated that Musavi was the victim of a three-missile bombing by Israel that hit the residence where he was staying in Persia, causing his death.
For his part, the head of state of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, assured that Israel “will undoubtedly pay” for the murder of Moussavi.
“Without a doubt, this action is another sign of frustration, impotence and incapacity of the usurping Zionist regime (Israel) in the region,” Raisi said.
According to the TELESUR web portal, Mousavi had been a senior official close to Qassim Soleimani, the head of the Guard's elite Quds Force, who was also killed in a U.S. drone attack in Iraq in 2020.
