The Venezuelan economy closed 2023 with significant growth, close to that forecast by the International Monetary Fund, said the president of the Economy and Finance Commission of the National Assembly (AN), Jesús Fária.

During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Fanía applauded this growth while praising the efforts made by the National Government to, despite the blockade that exists on our country, to recover economic indicators.

“Despite the economic blockade faced by the country in the last six years, there are macroeconomic indicators that show a decrease in the inflationary trend for 2024. This year the objective is for us to close with double-digit inflation, the fundamental variable is oil income,” he said.

In this regard, Fanía recognized that the prospects for 2024 are positive, thanks to the efforts of the actors of the national economy who have achieved the recovery of the productive apparatus “in the last two years, the impact of the oil variable remains decisive, but not in the same proportion”.

The legislator added that this year the Venezuelan parliament is planning the definitive approval of the Law for the Promotion of Non-Oil Exports “to help establish and develop growth mechanisms.”
