Jorge Rodríguez after another moderate-intensity aftershock: There are no additional damages in the country

The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, reported that on Monday morning a new earthquake of moderate intensity was recorded.

“We just had a moderate-intensity aftershock,” he said in a message posted on his Telegram channel.

He also noted that so far no “additional damage has been reported anywhere in the national territory.”

According to information from the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (FUNVISIS), in coordination with international seismology centers, two earthquakes were recorded in the national territory this Monday morning.

The first of the earthquakes, of magnitude 5.1, had its epicenter in the state of Aragua. Then, a second event of magnitude 4.2 centered on the coast of the state of La Guaira. These data were confirmed by the geological monitoring and surveillance systems that operate permanently in the nation.
