The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, categorically rejected the misleading opinion matrices that have circulated in the last few hours with the aim of generating anxiety in the population. The highest authority of the Legislative Branch compared the actions of small disinformation groups with the immense solidarity response and mutual support that the Venezuelan people have deployed to face the current seismic contingency.

Referring to false alarms, Rodríguez pointed out that “Yesterday, just as there were millions... camaraderie of compassion, accompaniment and help in a very minor way evil.” In this regard, he explained that this type of intention was evidenced as an “expression expressed two days ago on the subject of the tsunami between yesterday and today they began with the topic of the viaduct”, categorically dismissing any matrix of collapse.

On the real state of the infrastructure that connects the capital to the central coast, Rodríguez emphasized that the structure “is in perfect condition on a daily basis. Every 12 hours, it is technically evaluated and is in perfect condition”, ensuring that preventive checks by engineers are kept under a rigorous schedule.

“I know that they have published a photo that they have published some videos of a viaduct railing, a railing, one of the upper portions of the viaduct, with a small crack we studied it, we analyzed it and we are absolutely certain that it is fully operational,” said the legislative authority, clarifying that the visual damage is minor and does not compromise the engineering of the work at all.

In this regard, he urged citizens to verify the reports and to “please don't pay attention to that... don't understand these falsehoods and let people stick to the official information that we are constantly giving out by the Bolivarian Government, the government of the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, the governors, the mayors and the mayors.” He closed his speech with a message of cohesion: “I send you a hug, let us all remain in unity”.
