This Saturday, June 27 , the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, extended an invitation to the People to organize aid to care for the population affected by the two earthquakes that occurred last Wednesday.

“If you want to collaborate with food, with food, if you want to collaborate with blankets, with mattresses, with medicines, take it to the main collection center that we have there in the large tent of La Carlota or to the Caracas Storage Center in the Sucre parish in Catia,” he said.

In this regard, he reaffirmed that aid must be organized, mentioning that yesterday they observed that a truck with protein and meat was taken down without any type of refrigeration.

“Since the cold chain is not respected, instead of helping, which was the intention of those who were carrying that food in that truck, they are probably generating an additional problem because they can cause poisoning situations in patients, that is the reason why we have to order the help, we have to organize, not only the movement, but what type of help is most needed at this time,” he said.

He also reiterated that more than 220,000 meals have already been distributed in the state of La Guaira. At the same time, he indicated that the Bolivarian Government is installing shelters for people who are afraid to return to their homes and are currently sleeping in squares, courts or on the streets.

“We are designing and installing shelters, so that if people don't want to sleep in the shelter, they can at least go to the toilet, to bathe, to eat there, to rest a little and well we're trying to go directly to where people are to provide them with some kind of care,” he said.
