Jorge Rodríguez offers a new balance after the earthquakes of the 24J: More than 86,000 families served

The president of the National Assembly (AN) and member of the Presidential Commission for responding to the national emergency caused by the seismic event of last June 24, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, released this Saturday, July 4, through his official Telegram channel, the updated official report.

The published figures report the regrettable figure of 2,954 deaths, while the number of injured who have been treated amounts to 16,592 injured.

There has also been an increase in the number of people who are treated comprehensively, which stands at 86,794 families served, while the number of people rescued stands at 6,462.

In addition, the infrastructure balance indicates that there are 16,309 people without housing due to the definitive collapse of 190 buildings and the structural damage of another 856 residential and commercial buildings, a situation that has forced the acceleration of contingency plans and the temporary allocation of safe spaces in the most vulnerable regions.

To mitigate the social impact and ensure the physical well-being of survivors, civil protection and citizen security authorities maintain 80 temporary camps active nationwide, spaces where comprehensive assistance and direct clinical care have been provided to 22,445 patients.

The logistical deployment coordinated by the Central Executive has made possible the timely distribution of 9,486 tons of food, in addition to the continuous supply of 472,914 liters of drinking water, essential to maintain basic sanitary conditions in the protective perimeters.

The massive humanitarian assistance effort has an unprecedented civic-military mobilization that includes the deployment on the ground of 29,567 State security and rescue personnel, who work in close coordination with international aid represented by 3,281 foreign rescuers.

The solidarity response to the geological emergency is fundamentally complemented by the active registration of 26,984 organized civil volunteers, a human contingent committed to the operational tasks of removing debris, organizing supply stores and social support for victims of the natural disaster.
