The National Government established an airlift for search, rescue and rescue experts to travel from all states of the country to La Guaira and Caracas to help with the recovery of people who are under the rubble, said the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez.
In statements made this Thursday, Rodríguez stressed that the work of these rescuers will be coordinated by the unified command created by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez to deal with the disaster created by the earthquakes this Wednesday.
“The main mission we have, right now, all of us is to be united. It is leaving aside any form of diatribe, it is leaving aside any form of opinion that divides us and becoming a single voice, a sea of arms that collaborates and cares for people who have directly suffered the rigors of the tragedy. This is the time to save lives, to care for those who are under the rubble,” he said.
The president of the parliament said that the two earthquakes that affected Venezuela have had more than 138 aftershocks, affecting Caracas, La Guaira, Aragua and other states of the country.
