From the social network X, Juan Carlos Otaiza, vice-rector of the National Experimental Polytechnic University of the Armed Forces (UNEFA) recalled that on a day like today his brother Eliézer Otaiza would be 59 years old.
“Today #7Ene || You would be 59 years old Brother, my heart full of sadness remembers your teachings, your example, your great love for family, your passion for salsa and the tireless fight for your country, I Love You Brother. Eliezer Lives!” , he wrote.
Otaiza was born on January 7, 1965 and graduated from the Military Academy, where he obtained a degree in Military Arts and Sciences. There he met the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, who was an instructor in the institution of the subjects of Military History and Bolivarian Chair.
Once the murder of Commander Otaiza became known, the head of state Nicolás Maduro then reported that the crime was planned by the United States with the purpose of making it appear to be a crime of violence.
The revolutionary rebel had a doctorate in Political Science and was president of the Council of the Libertador municipality. In 2003, he headed the first Presidential Commission that achieved the declaration of Venezuela as a Territory Free of Illiteracy by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on October 28, 2005, after 1,478,000 Venezuelans had been literate, using the Yo Sí Puedo method. He was also a deputy of the National Constituent Assembly and president of the National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES).
