Mayor Carmen Meléndez noted the progress of the rehabilitation work of several educational centers

During the inspection deployment carried out this Sunday, September 13, the mayor of the Bolivarian Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, confirmed the progress of the comprehensive rehabilitation and beautification of several educational centers.

Among the schools visited are the Jesús Niño Early Childhood Education Center, in the parish of La Candelaria; the Margot Meyer Preschool, in San Bernardino; and the Fray Pedro de Ágreda National Educational Unit, in El Valle. These works enter their culmination phase with the last details of the frieze and the general painting of the main facades of the three venues.

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, stressed that this approach is part of the simultaneous attention that municipal management deploys to more than a hundred educational establishments in the 22 parishes of Caracas, reaffirming the institutional commitment to urban transformation and social infrastructure under the premise of “Caracas Reborn”.

The technical intervention carried out by the infrastructure brigades included the demolition and reconstruction of walls, the total waterproofing of the roofs and the spatial reorganization of the Jesús Niño Early Childhood Education Center. In addition, the work allowed the provision and adaptation of fundamental areas such as the dining room, the library, the auditorium, the nursing area and the administrative and recreational spaces.

With the comprehensive refurbishment of its internal and external facilities, the preschool is ready to receive 65 boys and girls at the start of the new school term 2026-2027 in comfortable, functional and safe classrooms, designed to promote children's learning and coexistence.

In addition, the municipal authority detailed the progress made in the comprehensive recovery of the Margot Meyer Preschool, located in the San Bernardino parish, a work carried out in direct coordination with local volunteers and the Gran Cacique Paramaconi Commune. Among the technical maneuvers carried out on the site, the removal and controlled structural demolition of the aerial tank stand out, which suffered damage as a result of the seismic activity recorded on June 24.

The approach at this institution included the beading and technical finishing of deteriorated walls and walls, the general application of paint, as well as the physical conditioning of four classrooms, two administrative areas and spaces for workers. In the same way, the crews carried out the repair of the kitchen and the restoration of school furniture.

On the other hand, the supervision of the educational infrastructure was transferred to the parish of El Valle, where the authorities verified the progress of the works in the Fray Pedro de Ágreda National Educational Unit. In this emblematic campus, the infrastructure brigades completed a comprehensive rehabilitation carried out to ensure the well-being and safety of 890 students, as well as the teaching and administrative staff.

Among the technical maneuvers carried out, the complete recovery of the hydropneumatic system and water pumps, the adaptation and repair of the sanitary parts in the bathrooms, the total waterproofing of the ceilings and the work of friezing, conditioning and general painting on walls and facades stand out.
