The Bolivarian Government carried out the demolition of towers A and B of the Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi Residential Complex, located in the state of La Guaira, which were seriously damaged by the double earthquake of last June 24.
This was reported by the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, who explained that tower C of this housing complex had already been demolished and the last two were pending.
“This is an operation that has special characteristics, because two buildings will be demolished simultaneously. In the same sequence, with a single detonation, the first one goes down and then the other one falls three seconds later,” he explained.
In the same way, the minister pointed out that these works were done after coordination with the families of the victims, with the owners and the neighbors. “We hope that everything goes as planned, so that later in the rubble we can check more calmly if anyone is trapped and begin to clear this area,” Cabello said.
