The Sectorial Vice President for Policy, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted that the Reception Center for Affected Persons set up at the National Experimental Maritime University of the Caribbean (UMC), in Catia La Mar, La Guaira state, houses the largest number of people affected by earthquakes.
During his second tour of this center, he stated that “we have perhaps the largest number of people concentrated here in this place, which was not a camp initially, but people from neighboring communities came here spontaneously as a safe place.”
In that sense, he said that “we had to adapt each space to each place to give peace of mind to the colleagues who are here and their families. Here are the neighbors, the heads of communities, the social leaders, who have been with them.”
He also specified that “the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, there is the Militia, there are the Civil Protection colleagues, here are the authorities of the University, the youth taking on the tasks assigned to them in solidarity, support and support brigades, and what we have been doing is collaborating and making an effort”.
