“The first phase of rescuing living people has not ended, and if we get a signal, we'll be there,” emphasized the sector's vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, from the La Guaira nucleus of Simón Bolívar University, where work is being carried out to adapt to the reception of those affected by the earthquake of last June 24.

The Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace also pointed out that, in addition to this first phase, which has been ongoing since June 24, “we are going to the phase that is very hard, very difficult, which is removing debris, removing materials that are there and continuing to move forward.”

Accompanied by local authorities and State agencies, the official supervised the logistics work, installation of beds and mattresses, provision of supplies, food areas, medical care, hydration and other conditions necessary to ensure comprehensive and decent care.
