Minister Ceballos: In the first week of 2024, crime rates in the country fell by 17%

The Sectorial Vice President for Public Security and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, specified that crime rates in the country fell by 17%, after the end of the Christmas holidays and during the first week of 2024.
This was stated during a meeting with the Directors and Heads of the country's Police Coordination Centers, to draw the guidelines that guarantee the protection of the People, held at the headquarters of the Bolivarian National Police Corps (CPNB), in El Helicoide, Caracas, he reviewed a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace.
“We have seen a substantial reduction of 44% in road accidents during the Christmas holidays and the first days of January, which indicates that progressive progress is being made in consolidating peace in the country,” he added.
Regarding the meeting, he said that it seeks to strengthen security actions. “The purpose of this working group is to advance the development of the public policies of the Great Mission Quadrants of Peace, which will allow us to strengthen orientation strategies and guidelines, to maintain the social welfare state of citizens,” he said.
In this regard, he affirmed that Venezuela is constantly and progressively consolidating the strengthening of the humanistic police model that guarantees human rights.
“We continue working to achieve the desired goals, the strengthening of the Great Quadrants of Peace Mission, as a fundamental public policy to protect, defend and serve the Venezuelan people,” he said.
