Minister for Health: We have treated more than 4,300 injured after earthquakes this Wednesday

The Minister for Health, Carlos Alvarado, reported that up to this Thursday, 4,300 serious and minor injuries have been treated through the National Public Health System.

After highlighting the participation of more than 5 thousand health professionals in this care plan for the population affected by the earthquake this Wednesday, the head of the health portfolio highlighted the effective participation of the private clinic guild in the care of the injured.

“So far, more than 150 patients have been treated in these private healthcare centers,” he said and highlighted the extraordinary effort that has been made to ensure immediate health care.

He reported that as part of the actions aimed at expanding the capacity to care for the injured, three field hospitals will be built, one of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), another of the Venezuelan Red Cross and one belonging to a private company.

He also noted that as part of the work, a protocol was activated for the transfer of injured people who require surgical interventions from La Guaira to hospitals in the city of Caracas.
