Minister Garcés: More than 2,500 engineers were qualified to evaluate structures

Just over 2500 professionals in the area of structural engineering were qualified to apply the international evaluation method that has been validated in Venezuela, to study whether the housing unit is habitable or not.

This was reported by the Minister of Transport and president of the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Habitability , Francisco Garcés, who also explained that “the yellow label implies that the structure may have minor structural damage, while the red label means that the structure has damage that could compromise the life of people”.

He also clarified that “the red label does not mean that it will be demolished, simply that it passes a new inspection and a deeper study for the final solution.”

In addition, he announced the creation of an international committee in which “we are evaluating all the formulas that we are going to apply based on the experience that other countries such as Mexico, Chile, the United States, Europe have had.”
