The Minister of Popular Power for Public Works, Juan José Ramírez, reported that to date, electricity service has recovered 95% in the state of La Guaira, following the earthquakes of last June 24.

From the state of La Guaira, he explained that “this 95% is sectorized, since, in the area where there are the greatest effects, it has not been able to be restored and work is being done to be able to do so uninterruptedly”.

He pointed out that in relation to the issue of water, “68% have been restored and the other percentage is carried out through distribution with uniformed personnel from the People's Guard with tanks in different sectors that have been arranged to collect and distribute water.”

He added that “we can say that in the area of communications of the Venezuelan National Anonymous Telephone Company (CANTV), we have been able to put the 60% recovery of the service into operation, with more than 22,000 subscribers who have internet and fixed telephone service. The damage includes repeater antennas that were on the roofs of buildings that collapsed after the earthquake.”

The holder of the ministerial portfolio added that on roads “there are no restrictions of any kind. Currently, work has been done to restore internal passages to avoid congestion and reach the entire territory. It's 100% restored.”
