The Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, on behalf of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), demanded the release of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.

“Yesterday, they kidnapped the person that the people of Venezuela elected as their president. He is President Nicolás Maduro Moros, the constitutional president elected by the People for the period 2025-2031. President Nicolás Maduro is the true and genuine constitutional leader of all Venezuelans,” he said.

The minister added that “Nicolás Maduro was elected in a process of free, sovereign, secret, universal elections with an electoral system that has guaranteed these electoral processes in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the last 25 years.”

Padrino López, on behalf of the entire Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), ruled that “we demand the rapid release of the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. The President and First Lady of the Republic, Cilia Flores de Maduro, has been kidnapped in an act of profound cruelty that was unleashed against a woman of Christian values and principles and was also taken in handcuffs”.

“From here, we demand the release of our Commander in Chief, president of all Venezuelans and the first lady,” he said.
