More than 14 tons of humanitarian aid arrived this Friday in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, from Brazil, as part of the systematic support of that sister country in the face of the emergency that Venezuela is experiencing after the two earthquakes that occurred on June 24.

The shipment, with 5.6 tons of hospital supplies and another 8.5 tons for equipment from the field hospital installed in Caraballeda, was transported by the Brazilian Air Force, which carried out its sixth humanitarian flight, in the last 15 days.

“The heart breaks right now, with deep pain, but it is also moved by all that the expression of humanity means. We are very grateful to Brazil, to the embassy; the Brazilian Government, in general, has given us its support,” said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin America, Mauricio Rodríguez, upon receiving the flight, in which 49 health personnel also arrived in the country to relieve those who have been working in the field hospital served by the Brazilian Navy to serve the Guairian population.

“Not only is it a sister town, but it is our natural border; we are neighbors forever and we are demonstrating it now with both hearts united,” he added.
