More than 21,000 children from Guiana Essequiba returned to classrooms

More than 21,000 boys, girls and young people started the 2026-2027 school year in Guayana Esequiba, the state's governor, Neil Villamizar, said.

Speaking to Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the governor stressed that this return to classrooms was achieved through the joint efforts of family members, teachers and community brigades, who recovered the facilities during the previous vacation period.

“A lot of work has been done during this vacation period to give it that quality that our students deserve. We must remember that request of our president, Delcy Rodríguez, that no child be left without studying,” Villamizar said.

The day was attended by massive participation of parents and representatives who accompanied the students, who responded to the call to ensure that no student is left out of schools.

“We have had difficulties, but this is the town that rises up after that double earthquake that shook our northern coastal area in June, but which affected our entire country,” Villamizar said.
