More than 237 thousand high school graduates were assigned to university careers

A total of 237,754 high school graduates were assigned to different university careers during the assignment process of the National Admission System 2026, the Minister for University Education, Ana María Sanjuán, said Thursday.
The holder of the university portfolio specified, in statements replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), that there are still 139,199 students to be assigned, while the demand registered in the system reached 397,556 high school graduates and the availability was 363,971 places.
As part of the process, 71,557 high school graduates were certified to study in options other than public universities, while 432 students who obtained 20 points throughout high school were admitted through direct assignment from the Office of University Sector Planning (OPSU).
Among the institutions with the highest number of students assigned are the National Experimental Polytechnic University of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (UNEFA), the National Experimental University Rómulo Gallegos, the Hugo Chávez Frías University of Health Sciences, the National Experimental University of the Western Plains Ezequiel Zamora (UNELLEZ) and The University of Zulia (LUZ).
