More than 2.7 million people accompanied the Divine Shepherdess procession in Lara

More than 2.7 million people attended the city of Barquisimeto in Lara state this Sunday to participate in the 166th procession of the Divine Shepherdess, patron saint of the entity. According to the governor, Adolfo Pereira, the massive walk went smoothly and surpassed the number of visitors in 2023.

From the social network X, he wrote: “From Detachment 121 of GNB Lara, I offered an overview of the 166th procession of the Divine Shepherdess together with Deputy Minister @PalenciaEndes m more than 2,700,000 parishioners accompanied the image of the virgin during a 7.5 kilometer walk. There were no relevant incidents and 274 citizens were provided with medical care due to the high temperature today in Barquisimeto.”

For this occasion, the authorities had at least 10,200 officials from different security forces who were deployed along the 7.5 kilometers of the route. The mayor's office also deployed more than 100 police officers. In addition, there were medical assistance and first aid points; seven for emergencies and fire prevention; and, on the other hand, fourteen dedicated to caring for lost people.
