More than 30 textile artists from the 14
municipalities of Carabobo show their creativity and talent in the exhibition “Carabobo
Creates Art and Fashion”, which brings together pieces made from yarns and garments
reused in the entity's Museum of Culture.
The textile companies, members of the
programs “Sustainable Carabobo” and “Let's unite hands unite hearts”, gave a
new use to materials that had been discarded and transformed them into dolls and characters using
techniques such as crochet.
Some of these creations were developed
with the purpose of providing relief and hope to people affected by the
double earthquake that occurred last June 24 in Venezuela. The initiative
emerged from the collection of used clothes requested as a
birthday present by the governor of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava.
The exhibition, inaugurated as part of the “Second Hand with Purpose”
fashion show, also has an immersive room and
the telarium, spaces that highlight the work of the creators and promote
recycling, sustainability and the use of textile materials.
During the activities, the participants highlighted the importance of having spaces to develop their capacities and share proposals related to environmental care, solidarity and peace.
