This Monday, Chile's National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (SENAPRED) reported that more than 3,446 hectares have been destroyed by forest fires recorded in 2023 in the South American country.

In this regard, he explained that Valparaíso, O'Higgins and the Metropolitan Region are the areas where most of the fires have been generated. While Marga Marga, San Antonio, Paine and La Estrella are on red alert; only two are on yellow alert: Santo Domingo and Melipilla.

According to what was published on the TELESUR web portal, among the most important accidents, the one in El Parrón stands out, which has consumed 1,339 hectares in the María Pinto area.
