A multidisciplinary commission, led by the governor of Apure State, Wilmer Rodríguez, and comprised of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Civil Protection, local mayors and producers, carried out a river inspection of the Matiyure and Arauca rivers.

The regional authorities explained that this current flows directly into the Payara River, which is currently dry, which guarantees that the waters flow boxed up and without the risk of overflowing.

Governor Rodríguez offered a piece of total peace of mind for the people of Biruaca and local producers, where he assured that the contingency is fully controlled because river levels are low.

It was known that to mitigate the risk of flooding in the Achaguas municipality, the placement of sandbags is progressing in the retaining wall of the El Pescador and La Gloria sectors, in order to reduce the impacts of the Arauca River flood.
