The President of the Republic, Nicolás Madur, urged to promote and disseminate the historical memory of the heroes and heroines of Venezuela in educational centers of the country, as well as in organizations of People's Power, in order to “vindicate collective memory”.

“One of the most revolutionary acts we can do in every school, in every high school, in every university, in every communal council, in every territory where our people are is to vindicate collective memory, and to set an example men like Domingo Antonio Sifontes,” he said.

The approach was made in the National Pantheon, where he led the event on the occasion of the arrival of the remains of General Domingo Antonio Sifontes.

He stressed that Venezuelan youth should be proud to be Venezuelan, “to feel proud to belong to a land full of lights, brightness, patriotism that has done so much for humanity.”

He asserted that perseverance will allow the vindication of values in the Venezuelan people. “It's about building the basis of a powerful identity, the new Venezuelanity of the 21st century, we must not allow our values to be destroyed,” he stressed.

In this regard, he pointed out that General Domingo Sifontes believed in the truth of the Republic and strove to see it established.

“I thought that the Homeland of Bolívar and Sucre was called to glorious destinies, and I know that I would have given all the blood in its veins to see it emerge radiant and transfigured in the midst of our political miseries,” he stressed.
