National President: We rescued Alex Saab from kidnapping and torture in the US

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the victory that for Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy represents the release of diplomat Alex Saab after three years of kidnapping by the United States.
“When the bombs of imperialist sanctions fell on us, he and another group of patriotic businessmen went out into the world to look for food and medicine for Venezuelans and the CLAP boxes arrived in Venezuela because Alex Saab was bringing them to the people, as well as fuel or retrovirals to combat Covid-19,” he said.

In reference to the release of the Venezuelan diplomat from his illegal kidnapping in the United States, he said that “in three and a half years, kidnapped, isolated, tortured, they could never charge him with a cause, show proof. Yesterday we managed to rescue an innocent man, a hero of our country, from kidnapping and torture,” he said.
