The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) of Argentina ratified this Wednesday its call for a national strike for January 24, in rejection of the decree against workers imposed by the extreme right Javier Milei, a few days after assuming the presidency of the country.
The decision remains, despite the fact that the Argentine Justice stopped, through a precautionary measure, labor reforms in the bill promoted by Milei.
“The first direct action measure approved by the CGT will not be suspended, but this could be evaluated as long as a real channel of dialogue and negotiation is opened with the Executive Branch, and through the national authorities that are at the forefront of the measures included in the 'mega-decree'”, says the Mundo Gremial platform, quoted by TELESUR.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of Workers of Argentina (CTA) also announced its intention to maintain its proposed day of struggle for January 24 and “called for regional plenaries and multisectoral meetings to strengthen the plan of action and multiply mobilizations across the country,” the organization points out from its account on the social network X.
