From his digital channels, President Nicolás Maduro commemorated that on a day like today in 2012, Commander Hugo Chávez issued a speech urging the “Helm Coup” to guarantee the construction of a truly participatory and community democracy under the premise of “Commune or Nothing”.

“We remember October 20, 2012, when President Hugo Chávez gave the so-called “Helm Strike”, drawing lines of progress towards a participatory society, with the People as the protagonist of power in all its dimensions,” he wrote.

He added that “that great vision and the great tasks planned that day are still in full development, moving towards more democratization of the society that we have experienced as a country: the democracy of the municipalities, of the neighbors and of ordinary people. Today, the commitment is only growing so that, with all our conscience gained, we can continue to cultivate the new spirituality that will lead us to be reborn as a Motherland-Matria blessed by God”.

President Maduro added that “we are always able to win through good. Let's put ourselves on the level of the simple in every action of life. We love them! Hugs and blessings to everyone. God is with us!”
